Rachel Welch

Rachel began practicing yoga as a homeschooled child, when she chose to study Eastern Philosophy. Vedic texts such as the Bhagavad Gita inspired her to start a daily yogic practice, involving asana, prananyama, meditation and behavior.

She maintained this practice for many years, up through her time in college. After receiving her Associates Degree in English, Rachel decided it was time to become certified in the discipline she loved. An arduous search brought her to the Saraswati River Yoga School and Center in New Hope, PA. There Rachel became one of the many apprentices to the brilliant Parvathi (Kirin Mishra), the world-renowned yogini.

Soon after, Rachel also began studying with the wonderful David Pittenger, also an apprentice of Parvathi's. Rachel is devoted to this glorious practice, and plans on one day training in India. She continues to study with Parvathi and David.

Her hope is to enlighten others with the teachings and practices that so inspired her. When Rachel isn't devoting her time to yoga, she is busy writing things of all kinds, reading books of all sorts, working with peaceful activism groups, and sharing and growing with her beautiful husband.
